Faculty of Civil Engineering

Faculty of Civil Engineering offers 4 bachelor study programs as listed below:

  • Construction – BSc, 180 ECTSs

The program offers students the opportunity to adapt to technological change and make them compete both domestically and internationally. Engineers are a central figure and responsible for the design, construction and operation of a wide range of projects of various categories. The market itself and the crisis that has involved it at the moment is a very complex challenge for finding new and effective solutions, both in an economic context and in the social, technological and environmental context. This program aims to provide students with the appropriate technical and construction process management skills to effectively contribute to this environment and prepare students for their careers as engineers but also as future researchers.

The study program of BSc-Structure is organizing in six semesters over three academic years. In each semester the student accumulates the 30ECTS, when after the completion of studies, the total accumulate credits is 180ECTS.

  • Hydrotechnic – BSc, 180 ECTS

The study program of BSc-Hydrotechnic is developed and organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering - Department of Hydrotechnic according to the Bologna system - rated by the weight of ECTS credits ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). Since the trend of continuous development of our country is marking growth then as a result of the development of certain branches of the economy and industry there is also accelerated urbanization. At the same time the demands for natural resources and especially for water have increased. In addition to increasing water supply demands, the situation is exacerbated by increasing population demand based on increased quality of life, increased irrigation demand, use of water for energy, intensified urbanization and climate change. Furthermore, in addition to the growing demand for water, their ongoing pollution and degradation of water quality must be taken into account. Increasing demand for water and degradation of water quality pose a continuing burden on existing water resources. Therefore, it is more than necessary that these resources are used optimally and we are committed to their protection. The study program of BSc-Hydrotechnic is organizing in six semesters for the three academic years. In each semester the student accumulates the 30 ECTS, when after the completion of studies, the total accumulate credits is 180 ECTS.

  • Geodesy – BSc, 180 ECTS

The study program of BSc-Geodesy is developed and organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering - Department of Geodesy according to the Bologna system - rated by the weight of ECTS credits ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). The bases for the development of the BSc Geodesy study program are the development of society, the creation of the latest scientific knowledge in the field of equipment in the labor market, as well as professional services for the needs of the market. As in the whole world, in Europe as well as in our country, the development trends in the geodesy sector are competitive and continue to develop with very high dynamics, especially in the period of the last 15-20 years. Increasing demand of the labor market for services in geodetic fields, respectively various measurements in urban and rural areas of Kosovo, make the scientific knowledge in these fields very actual. Also, the drafting of Urban Development Plans of cities are indicative of the growing demand for geodetic measurements, cartographic products and geoinformation systems. Even the economy in the private sector in the country gives positive growth indices and demand. Recently in our country importance is given to the creation and development of economic zones for which geodetic services are required. Being our country at an unsatisfactory level of development of all sectors, there is potentially the possibility of large investments of various entities for sectoral developments. Configuration of Kosovo, its assets, the relation towards the population always have enough potential for capital investments in many sectors such are: industry, transport, tourism, small economy - individual sector etc. The study program of BSc- Geodesy is organizing in six semesters for the three academic years. In each semester the student accumulates the 30ECTS, when after the completion of studies, the total accumulate credits is 180ECTS.

  • Environmental Engineering – BSc, 180 ECTS

The study program of BSc-Environmental Engineering is developed and organized by the Faculty of Civil Engineering - Department of Environmental Engineering according to the Bologna system - rated by the weight of ECTS credits ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System). According to the National Science Program, which has identified five national scientific priorities in order to create conditions for the preparation of a systematic educational research program, "Natural resources, energy and environment" ranks first among these five priorities. This is because the country is facing uncontrolled use of natural resources, high population density and the presence of economic activities with a major impact on the environment. As a result, and especially the approach of unfair use of the environment in our country (coping with the interaction between human activities and their impact on natural resources, climate change, etc.) have led to the Faculty of Civil Engineering to offer a new program of bachelor level studies, Environmental Engineering. The study program of BSc-Environmental Engineering is organizing in six semesters for the three academic years. In each semester the student accumulates the 30ECTS, when after the completion of studies, the total accumulate credits is 180ECTS.
