The AUF in Central and Eastern Europe and the RFI Romania are joining forces to set up 20 remote professional internships intended for French-speaking students registered in an AUF member establishment other than Romania.
The internships will last 4 months and will take place from March 4 to July 4, 2024.
Internship activities
The main tasks of the internships will be the translation of national press articles into French (domains: health, society, economy, culture). The volume of work will be one article per week.
Application conditions:
• be enrolled in an AUF member university in CEE, other than Romania (https://www.auf.org/membres/) in a field of journalism, communication, foreign languages, translation or other related field;
• have an excellent level of French;
• demonstrate that the internship is an integral part of the university curriculum and that it is awarded with credits or a grade;
• have student status for the entire duration of the internship (March-July 2024).
Selection criteria for eligible applications:
• the consistency of the internship with the training followed;
• the quality of the translation test.
Selection procedure:
The AUF and the RFI will analyze the students' applications and select the beneficiary students by mutual agreement. The results will be announced on the AUF website and social networks in Central and Eastern Europe on March 1, 2024.
Successful students will be notified by the AUF. Once the beneficiaries have been selected, a nominal quadripartite internship agreement will be concluded between the AUF, the RFI, the original establishment and the student.
At the end of the internship, the RFI and the AUF undertake to establish a certificate of end of internship for the student interns. The RFI will communicate constantly with the AUF, particularly regarding the attendance of trainees.
Supported:
The 20 selected interns will benefit from an allowance of 60 euros’ gross per month from the AUF, for a period of 4 months.
Submission of application:
The candidate must complete the online form.
He must attach the following documents:
• copy of student card valid for the year 2023 – 2024 or other proof of student status
updated curriculum vitae (in French);
• national language – French language translation test:
• candidates must choose a relevant article from the national press (health, economy, culture, society, etc.), of approximately 6000-8000 characters (including spaces), translate it into French and submit it in .docx format, .doc or .pdf;
• article selection criteria: article from a credible media source that is of interest to the audience in the student's home country (nationally) and could be relevant to a regional/international audience;
• a scanned certificate or an electronic message from the training manager in the original establishment (head of department or dean) indicating their agreement for this internship and the inclusion of the internship in the course by credits or by a note, in .pdf format.
