The University of Graz is accepting applications for its interdisciplinary PhD Program in Law and Politics, designed to provide PhD researchers with advanced theoretical, methodological, and empirical knowledge in the fields of Political Science and Law. The program offers up to 10 PhD positions, with admission based on a competitive selection process.
- Eligibility: Research topics must be related to either Law or Political Science
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following documents in English:
- Current photo
- Passport or identity card
- Dissertation proposal (max. 8,000 characters)
- Motivation letter with a provisional dissertation timeline (max. 2 A4 pages)
- Curriculum vitae (max. 3 A4 pages)
- Application for admission to the doctoral program and doctoral school
- University degree diplomas (Bachelor’s, Master’s) and proof of all completed university programs
- Transcript of records (including ECTS or contact hours per semester)
Proof of English proficiency (minimum scores required):
- TOEFL iBT: 95
- IELTS Academic: 7.0
- Cambridge CPE / CAE (minimum 180, Grade C or better)
- Telc C1
- Pearson PTE Academic: 76
- Completion of a degree program with English as the language of instruction (official confirmation required)
