The Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia at the University of Michigan invites applications for Weiser Professional Development Fellowships from faculty and artists at institutions of higher education in Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
Fellowship Overview
The Weiser Professional Development Fellowships support research visits ranging from 6 weeks to 3 months at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Fellows will receive round-trip airfare, housing, health insurance, and a stipend to support their stay. The fellowship offers a flexible timeframe, allowing successful applicants to undertake their research either from September to November 2024 or February to April 2025.
Eligible applicants are invited to propose projects in any area of research or teaching in collaboration with a faculty partner at the University of Michigan. This fellowship is open to candidates from Kosovo and other eligible countries who possess excellent oral and written English skills, which will be verified as part of the application process.

- Curriculum Vitae
- A copy of their doctoral diploma or highest professional degree
- A copy of the passport photo page
- A two-page personal statement outlining the proposed project and its expected impact on their home institution
- An invitation from a University of Michigan faculty partner
- A letter of recommendation from the rector or dean of their institution
- A copy of a recent TOEFL score report (if applicable)
- Consent to participate in an interview
