The University of Prishtina is pleased to share information about the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship, which provides outstanding students from Kosovo and Montenegro the opportunity to pursue higher education in Taiwan. This prestigious scholarship is offered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and aims to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Taiwan and its international partners.
Scholarship Programs
The MOFA Taiwan Scholarship supports:
- A pre-degree Mandarin Language Enrichment Program (LEP) for up to one year.
- Degree programs at the undergraduate, master's, or doctoral level (excluding in-service programs).
Scholarship Duration
- Pre-degree LEP: One year
- Bachelor’s Degree: Maximum 4 years
- Master’s Degree: Maximum 2 years
- Doctoral Degree: Maximum 4 years
(The total duration cannot exceed 5 years, and award periods must be continuous.)
Scholarship:
- Monthly Stipend: NT$28,000 (for LEP) and NT$33,000 (for degree programs).
- One-way economy-class flight ticket to and from Taiwan.
- Some universities may offer reduced tuition and fees.
- Recipients are responsible for all other expenses during their stay in Taiwan.
Criteria
- Be a citizen of Kosovo or Montenegro,
- Have an excellent academic record and no criminal background.
- Not hold Taiwanese nationality or be an overseas compatriot student.
- Not have attended a program in Taiwan at the same level before.
- Not be an exchange student in Taiwan during the scholarship period.
- Not have had a previous ROC government scholarship revoked.
Application Process

Required Documents:
- Completed and signed application form.
- Passport copy or national ID.
- Highest degree diploma & transcripts (translated if not in English/Chinese).
- Proof of application to a university in Taiwan.
- English or Chinese proficiency certificate (depending on the program language).
- Two recommendation letters from academic supervisors or instructors.
Selection and Results
- Applications will be reviewed by TRO, and interviews may be conducted.
- The final selection will be made by MOFA Taiwan, with results announced by June 30, 2025.
- Recipients must submit their admission letter and signed Terms of Agreement to TRO by July 15, 2025.
