At the 12th meeting of the University of Prishtina Senate, held on Friday, February 21, 2025, senators agreed to discuss the possibility of establishing a committee composed of professors with high academic integrity at an extraordinary meeting in March. The committee's task would be to make decisions regarding a professorship position at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Prishtina.

This concerns one of the assistant professor positions from the competition on May 31, 2023, for which six individuals applied. The committee is expected to include members from the University of Prishtina and prestigious universities from the United Kingdom and Austria.

For four positions in this competition, the Anti-Corruption Agency identified conflicts of interest, and the Senate, in its meeting on November 27, 2024, annulled the advancements up to the point where no such conflict existed.

Regarding the Commission for reviewing the academic promotions of rectors from 1999 to the present, who are still employed by UP, the Senate was informed that invitations will be sent to international experts to join. This commission was proposed at the November 27, 2024 meeting.

The Senate unanimously approved the General Regulation for Doctoral Studies and reviewed and approved the proposals from academic units for this level of study, according to recommendations from the Central Council for Doctoral Studies. The names of three doctoral thesis mentors were also approved.

Senators unanimously voted for the University of Prishtina Mobility Commission.

The Senate also introduced the Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality, and Student Affairs, Majlinda Gjelaj, who recently joined the UP management team.

The University of Prishtina Senate has scheduled an extraordinary meeting with a single agenda item for March 3, 2025.
