During his visit to the nearly completed new facility of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FShMN), Rector Arben Hajrullahu underscored both the profound pride and immense responsibility of leading the highest-ranked university within Albanian-speaking regions.

Rector Hajrullahu praised the building, which is rapidly taking its final shape, as a symbol of our era—constructed to European Union standards and with energy efficiency in mind. He noted that the University of Prishtina (UP) is similarly advancing along a path of innovation and adaptation to continuous technological developments, including artificial intelligence.

The visit was organized by the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as part of the Exploring Architectural and Engineering Practices on Site initiative. Attendees included UP’s Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Avni Hajdari; students of architecture, engineering, and economics; and representatives of the European Union (EU) in Kosovo.

Addressing students present at the construction site, Alessandro Bianciardi, Deputy Head of the Cooperation Section at the EU Office in Kosovo, stressed the critical importance of bridging theory with practice. Acting Minister of Education Arbërie Nagavci also spoke about the participating students, stating, "Those for whom this effort is made are at the forefront of our priorities. This is where future generations will study."

Simonetta Siligato, Director of the Austrian Multi-Country Office at UNOPS, and Sabine Kania, Head of the UNOPS Office for Kosovo and Albania, also addressed attendees during the event. Kania detailed the new FShMN building, jointly funded by the EU, the University of Prishtina, and the Ministry of Education, and fully designed and supervised by UNOPS throughout all construction phases. Among its features, she highlighted a green rooftop, student social pockets, and architectural harmony with surrounding structures.

The building stands as a testament to modern educational infrastructure, poised to serve as a hub for innovation and collaboration.
