A memorandum of cooperation has been signed between the University of Prishtina and Gazi University in Türkiye.
The document, prepared by both universities, was signed by their respective rectors: Prof. Arben Hajrullahu and Prof. Uğur Ünal.
Prof. Hajrullahu, Rector of the University of Prishtina, welcomed his guests to Kosovo and expressed his hope that "the agreement will not remain merely on paper, but will instead become truly vibrant and active—a goal to be achieved through the efforts of both your university and ours."
Rector Uğur Ünal pledged that Gazi University would share all its technological and professional expertise with the University of Prishtina. The memorandum establishes the procedures and principles for academic, cultural, and educational cooperation between the two institutions.
Prior to the signing and during the formal ceremony, Rector Hajrullahu was accompanied by Vice Rector for Budget, Finance, and Public-Private Sector Cooperation, Albana Berisha-Qehaja, and Vice Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Avni Hajdari. From Gazi University, alongside Rector Ünal, several professors from its Faculty of Education also attended the event.
Founded in 1926 by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk—the founder of modern Türkiye, who is said to have Albanian roots on his father’s side—Gazi University is headquartered in the heart of Ankara and ranks among Türkiye’s leading institutions. It offers studies in fields such as technology, engineering, medicine, education, sports, and architecture, among others.
