A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the University of Prishtina and the Jahjaga Foundation, aimed at mutual benefit and the common good.
The memorandum was signed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, and Atifete Jahjaga, founder and leader of the Jahjaga Foundation.
Hoping that everything proceeds smoothly, President Jahjaga described the signed memorandum as a solid foundation for concrete cooperation, while Rector Hajrullahu declared that this union of forces will lead to meaningful work.
The memorandum establishes joint initiatives in education, scientific research, and the professional development of students and academic staff, with the goal of improving the quality of education in Kosovo.
A notable and significant aspect of the memorandum is the organization of regular visits by University of Prishtina students to the premises of the Jahjaga Foundation’s "Çast" Museum, which is dedicated to survivors of sexual violence during the war in Kosovo.
During the meeting and signing ceremony, Rector Hajrullahu was joined by Vice-Rectors Rozafa Basha and Avni Hajdari. Representing the Jahjaga Foundation were Egzona Bexheti, the Foundation’s Executive Director, and Bleona Hajdari, advisor to Atifete Jahjaga, Kosovo’s first female President.
President Jahjaga gifted Rector Hajrullahu a filigree artwork crafted by survivors of wartime sexual violence, along with copies of the Foundation’s magazine titled "Za". In return, she received the University of Prishtina’s prestigious institutional plaque.
