For the first time, the Rector of the Arab Academic College in Haifa, Israel, Randa Abbas, and the Rector of the Aqaba University of Technology in Jordan, Mohammed Alweshah, visited the University of Prishtina and Kosovo.
The guests from these two distant countries were welcomed by the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, along with the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Rozafa Basha, and the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Blerim Saqipi.
All three rectors agreed that nothing can be achieved without proper education and that only education can bring peace to the world.
The Faculties of Education at the University of Prishtina and the Arab Academic College in Haifa, Israel, have begun a joint project, which is expected to also include the Aqaba University of Technology in Jordan.
The project, launched this week in Prishtina, is funded by the Ministry of Regional Cooperation in the Government of Israel and includes research activities in the field of artificial intelligence, the preparation of new teachers, as well as other joint activities for academic staff and students.
The meeting also explored pathways for further cooperation opportunities within the framework of European projects like Erasmus+ and Horizon, and during the development of the 25th edition of the Prishtina International Summer University.
The enhancement of contacts between the University of Prishtina and Israeli universities was also discussed in a meeting that Rector Arben Hajrullahu had with the ambassador of Israel, Tammy Ziv, at the end of January 2025.
