Students from the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Prishtina, Erina Blakiqi and Roni Veseli, have achieved extraordinary success by ranking among the top 40 most innovative project ideas globally in the "Red Bull Basement" competition.

In this prestigious competition, with over 110,000 ideas from around the world, the two students represented the University of Prishtina and the state of Kosovo in its final phase.

Rector Arben Hajrullahu congratulated the students on their achievement, stating that it is not only a personal success but also beneficial for the University of Prishtina.

Before they traveled to the final competition in Tokyo, Japan, Erina Blakiqi and Roni Veseli triumphed with their project in Kosovo among 103 applications in November 2024.

The prototype device, called "PulseInsight," is designed to predict and prevent cardiovascular and respiratory diseases through analysis of breathing and heartbeats, using electromagnetic waves and artificial intelligence algorithms.

The monitoring is conducted without physical contact with the user's skin, and the results are displayed in real-time via a dedicated app on their phone.

As part of the Erasmus+ project, Erina Blakiqi and Roni Veseli will continue their studies at Linnaeus University in Sweden.

Recently, another student and a professor from the University of Prishtina also built a prototype of a mechanical ventilator, which is likewise used in medicine.
