As part of the "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence," the Rectorate building of the University of Prishtina (UP) was illuminated in orange.

This initiative was organized by both the Rectorate and the Kosovo Office of "UN Women," an organization promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

At the event, Rector Arben Hajrullahu, Vice Rectors Albana Berisha-Qehaja, Rozafa Basha, and Avni Hajdari, Secretary General Besnik Loxha, the Rector's advisors, and academic and administrative staff of the University of Prishtina were all present. Representatives of "UN Women," a global organization operating under UN mechanisms, were also present.

Gender equality at the University of Prishtina is enshrined in Article 7 of its statute. Section 1 of this article states, "The University ensures and supports gender equality."

As part of the "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence," UP has also planned a lecture for students on December 4, in collaboration with "UN Women."

This awareness campaign, organized by the Ministry of Justice, began on November 25, 2024.
