On December 10, the International Human Rights Day, the University of Prishtina and the Public Advocate Institution will host a collaborative event.

This initiative, which will involve students, professors, civil society representatives, and Kosovo's political figures, was agreed upon during a meeting between the University Rector, Arben Hajrullahu, and Public Advocate, Naim Çelaj.

During the meeting, Public Advocate Çelaj emphasized that independence is the cornerstone of his institution. He also highlighted the positive collaboration with the University of Prishtina, noting that several professors have contributed their expertise to issues addressed by the Public Advocate Institution.

Rector Hajrullahu expressed the University's openness to further cooperation, proposing joint lectures on human rights, non-discrimination, and gender equality for students, faculty, and the general public. Public Advocate Çelaj fully supported the idea and voiced concerns about the limited media attention given to the academic perspectives on critical societal developments.

The meeting included Rector Hajrullahu, Prorectors Naim Jerliu and Albana Berisha-Qehaja, Secretary Besnik Loxha, and Legal Office Director Saranda Leka. Public Advocate Çelaj was accompanied by his Deputy, Basri Kastrati, and Advisor, Rozafa Selmanaj.
