In a meeting between Rector Arben Hajrullahu and Prishtina's Mayor Përparim Rama, the two leaders discussed how their institutions could mutually support each other.

Mayor Rama was accompanied by Vllaznim Osmani, Chief of Staff of the Municipality of Prishtina. Together with the Rector, Deputy Rectors Albana Berisha-Qehaja and Avni Hajdari were also present to welcome the municipal representatives at the Rectorate.

During the meeting, Rector Hajrullahu emphasized the importance of collaboration, expressing a strong willingness to improve and describing the University of Prishtina as a "smaller home within a larger home" — the municipality, the capital city with the highest population in the country.

Mayor Rama, in congratulating Hajrullahu on his new position, wished him success and hoped his work would exceed expectations.

Both leaders agreed on the need to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the University of Prishtina's spaces, striving for cleaner, car-free areas without clutter or waste.

Mayor Rama assured the Rector that the “George Bush” Square project, which extends to the National Library, would not affect university buildings but would refresh the surrounding public spaces.

Rector Hajrullahu offered the University of Prishtina's expertise in various fields, which Mayor Rama welcomed, noting the future need for such expertise as plans develop for a digital information analysis lab.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts: Mayor Rama left a “Hyjneshë në Fron” or  “Goddess on the Throne” statue — a symbol of Prishtina — at the Rectorate, while taking with him a plaque from the University of Prishtina.
