Researchers and collaborators from the “NanoKos” project at the University of Prishtina participated in workshops and presentations at the second edition of the International Conference “NanoBalkan” (NB2024).

Held in Tirana, this conference showcased the latest research and developments in the fields of nanoscience and nanotechnology—scientific disciplines of engineering that manipulate atoms and molecules to design, produce, and utilize structures, devices, and systems.

As part of the conference, the second workshop of the “NanoKos” project was conducted, bringing together distinguished researchers and our talented students who presented innovative research and insights on nanomedicine and healthy environments, highlighting their valuable achievements and contributions in the field of nanotechnology.

The keynote speakers for this workshop included Susanne Krauss-Etschmann from the Research Center Borstel, Germany; Ian Mudway from the School of Public Health, Imperial College London; Elinda Zeqiri from ImmuONE; and Driton Vllasaliufrom King’s College London.

Representing the University of Prishtina at this workshop were Mimoza Basholli, Avni Berisha, and Armond Daci.

At the Tirana conference, joint workshops were also held between Albania, Japan, and Spain focused on nanotechnology, as well as between Albania, Italy, and Spain on nanomedicine.

The NanoKos project, funded by the European Union, was launched in June 2023 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Prishtina and aims to enhance international collaboration and research capacities with the latest technology.
