The Turkish Embassy in Kosovo has offered its cooperation to find ways for the University of Prishtina to connect with Turkish universities in fields of mutual interest.
The Turkish Ambassador to Kosovo, Sabri Tunç Angili, in a meeting with the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, and the Vice-Rector, Rozafa Basha, discussed fields that could potentially lead to a cooperative agreement between higher education institutions of both countries.
In the meeting, Ambassador Angili said that Turkish universities might be interested in cooperating with the University of Prishtina to help in the field of Balkan Studies which has a focus on Kosovo and within the Department of Albanian Language and Literature at Trakya University in Edirne, Türkiye.
Rector Arben Hajrullahu stated that the University of Prishtina is interested in cooperating with Turkish universities in fields related to sciences such as engineering. Moreover, Ambassador Angili mentioned other possibilities for cooperation with Turkish universities, particularly in technological fields, labour market and security industry cooperations.
The ambassador proposed that, with the cooperation of Trakya University, a center for Turkish language and culture studies could be established at the University of Prishtina.
After the meeting with Ambassador Angili, Rector Hajrullahu and Vice-Rector Basha also met Ms. Fulya Aslan, the coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Kosovo.
