The Eighth International Congress of Applied Biological Sciences began today at the University of Prishtina. This congress is organized in partnership with Eskisehir Osmangazi University from Turkey.
Around 80 participants from Kosovo, Turkey, Albania, the Czech Republic, and Germany gathered at UP to present and hear the latest research findings in the fields of Genetics, Medicine, Pharmacy, Molecular Biology, and others.
The congress proceedings were welcomed by the university's rector, Prof. Dr. Qerim Qerimi, who expressed his happiness at seeing the fruits of cooperation between UP and Eskisehir Osmangazi University. "For all professionals and young researchers, I encourage you to take advantage of this congress not only as an opportunity to exchange and acquire knowledge but also to create connections, collaborate, and inspire each other," emphasized Rector Qerimi.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Mujgan Ozdemir Erdogan, the president of the congress's organizing committee, thanked UP for its cooperation and encouraged participants to actively engage to make the most of this experience.
Participants in the congress were also greeted by the vice-rector for research, projects, innovation, and information, Prof. Dr. Sefer Avdiaj, who emphasized UP's dedication to investing in science, as well as the dean of the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Idriz Vehapi, who expressed his joy that this congress is taking place at FSHMN and has brought scientists from different parts of the world to Kosovo.
Regarding the importance of the topics to be discussed during these two days of the congress, the attendees were informed by professors Ilir Mazreku and Armond Daci, before continuing with presentations of research findings by the participants.
The congress will continue tomorrow with oral and poster presentations.
