Rector Qerim Qerimi, accompanied by Arta Basha-Jakupi, the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, and Mr. Irfan Nikçi, the Public Relations Advisor met with Keisuke Yamanaka, the Chargé d'Affaires at the Japanese Embassy in Kosovo, Professor Till Weber from the University of Ryukyus, and Arbër Myftari, the Political and General Affairs Advisor at the Japanese Embassy in Kosovo.
This meeting followed the signing of a cooperation agreement between UP and the Japanese University in May of this year.
Rector Qerimi extended a gracious welcome to the UP guests and conveyed the institution's enthusiasm and dedication to advancing collaboration in various domains with the University of Ryukyus, facilitated through the Japanese Embassy in Kosovo.

Vice-Rector Basha-Jakupi also expressed appreciation for Professor Weber's and Mr. Yamanaka's visit to UP, underscoring the significance of the international dimension for the University of Prishtina and the tireless efforts invested in its advancement.
During the meeting, they discussed regarding student and staff exchanges, also the organization of joint scientific endeavors, all of which are already stipulated in the official agreement between the two institutions.
Following the discussion with UP's leadership, Professor Weber also engaged with the deans and vice-deans of UP's faculties to explore concrete ideas for collaboration between their respective academic units.
