With the invitation of the assemblyman David M. Carr of the state of New York, the delegation of the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina", the member of the Steering Council, Mr. Rifat Krasniqi and the director of personnel at the university, Mr. Fidan Hamiti - participated in the ceremony of laying the foundation of the Ismail Qemali Street in Staten Island, New York.

In the framework of these meetings, the state assembly in New York, besides the delegation participating in Staten Island, Mr. Krasniqi and Mr. Hamiti, appreciated with a gratitude also the rector of the University of Prishtina, dr. Qerim Qerimi. Acknowledgments are cited as below:

"In gratitude for the contribution made to the American and Albanian community as an outstanding individual, from Mr. Sam Pirozzolo, New York State Assemblyman".

Aside from the inauguration of the Ismail Qemaili street, the delegation of the University of Pristina also met with members of the New York State Assembly, as well as representatives of Albanian associations in America, during a series of meetings.

As part of the meetings, the delegation of the University of Pristina also met with Ambassador William G. Walker.

The presence of the delegation of the University of Pristina at the manifestation of the inauguration of the Ismail Qemali street marked an important opportunity for academic and cultural connections between the two countries and the advancement of mutual cooperation.
