The students of the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina have been ranked among the five best universities, of all the participants in the European rounds of the prestigious competition for law students "Philip C. Jessup", which was held in Geneva, Switzerland.

In this competition, held between March 9-11, 2023, the representative team of the Faculty of Law, consisting of the students: Art Sylaj, Daorsa Berisha, Ernesa Shala, Lea Meraku, and Diellza Mujaj - team coach, have achieved extraordinary success by ranking among the top five teams. In addition, student Lea Meraku was awarded the prize of the fourth best oralist among 60 other participants.

For the success achieved in Geneva, rector Qerim Qerimi has rewarded the UP representative team with gratitude. "It is a great pleasure for us when a team from our university is ranked in such a high position in a prestigious international competition”. This helps us understand our real power and quality. And if this is a correct parameter, at least about the students, you have every reason to be proud", said Rector Qerimi to the students and professors.

Proud of the student’s success, the dean of the Faculty, prof. assoc. dr. Avni Puka congratulated the team and reiterated his support to the students and staff for even better representation in other competitions in the future.

Professor Bekim Sejdiu and coach Diellza Mujaj also expressed their contentment with the representation of UP.

The student Lea Meraku, ranked fourth best oralist among many participants from various international universities, thanked the professors for their continuous support during the preparation for the competition while adding that such acknowledgments motivate students even more for the future.

The students who are soon expected to participate in the Nuremberg Moot Court competition were also present at this meeting.

The "Philip C. Jessup" law competition is among the three most prestigious international competitions for law students in the world, in which UP is represented. The same representative team of the Faculty of Law for the "Philip C. Jessup" competition will also participate in the final rounds held in Washington D.C., USA, in the period April 8-15, 2023.
