Rector of the University of Prishtina, prof. dr. Qerim Qerimi, accompanied by the vice-rector for internationalization and academic exchange, prof. dr. Arta Basha-Jakupi, and the vice-rector for development, budget, finance and cooperation with the private sector, prof. assoc. dr. Pranvera Breznica-Selmani, welcomed the rector of the University of Tetovo, prof. dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.
The University of Tetovo delegation also consisted of the vice-rectors: prof. dr. Shefik Shehu, vice-rector for international cooperation, prof. dr. Ibrahim Neziri, vice rector for education, prof. dr. Agon Ahmeti, vice rector for science, and prof. dr. Faton Shabani, vice rector for finance.
In this meeting, Rector Qerimi emphasized that the delegation from Tetovo is the first university team he has met since assuming the role of rector of UP. He spoke about the international scope of the University of Pristina and the possibilities of deepening the cooperation with the university of Tetovo. "By cooperating strategically, we can benefit and build a standard that can withstand the pressure of developments and investments of higher education institutions around the world," emphasized Rector Qerimi.
On the other hand, rector Ahmeti congratulated rector Qerimi on his election to the position of UP head. "The University of Prishtina holds an utmost importance in our collective memory. From a personal and institutional point of view, we consider our university as a natural continuation of the UP," stated rector Ahmeti, adding that the University of Prishtina was the main study objective for Albanians in Macedonia up until three decades ago.
The vice-rectors present also discussed with their counterparts and expressed their willingness to explore cooperation opportunities in their respective fields. The parties agreed to hold working meetings in the near future as well, in order to discuss the possibilities of cooperation in more detail.
