The Kosova Accreditation Agency has officially reaccredited the University of Prishtina for the next five years.
The news of the institutional reaccreditation was formally announced by the Kosova Accreditation Agency, confirming that the University of Prishtina has secured accreditation until 2030.
The reaccreditation process began earlier this year, with a site visit conducted on November 18 and 19, 2024, by a group of international experts and officials from the Kosova Accreditation Agency.
The evaluation team, comprised of professors Melita Kovacevic, Magdalena Platis, Mauro Zarrelli, and Marija Vasilevska, alongside Agency officials—General Director Naim Gashi, Director of the Department for Evaluation and Accreditation Arianit Krasniqi, and Coordinator Shpresa Shala—expressed great satisfaction with their observations and discussions during their visits to the Rectorate and various faculties of the University of Prishtina.
The institutional reaccreditation marks a significant success for Rector Arben Hajrullahu, Vice-Rectors Albana Berisha-Qehaja, Avni Hajdari, Naim Jerliu, and Rozafa Basha, as well as Secretary Besnik Loxha. This achievement ensures that quality assurance mechanisms, international collaborations, faculty leadership, teaching staff, and students remain comparable to international university standards.
The process also recognized the contributions of the University’s former management team, led by Professor Qerim Qerimi.
The current management of the University of Prishtina, under the leadership of Rector Arben Hajrullahu, assumed office on October 1, 2024. The successful completion of institutional reaccreditation stands as their first major accomplishment.
The University of Prishtina remains the oldest and most prominent higher education institution in Kosova, consistently ranking above all other universities in Albanian-speaking regions.
