At its meeting on 15 July 2026, the Senate of the University of Prishtina appointed two of its members to oversee the implementation of the new UP Strategic Plan 2026–2030 and set up a commission to design templates for the university’s official documents and promotional materials.
With the aim of supporting and promoting high-quality scientific work and research at UP, the senators also approved a decision on the criteria for recognizing scientific publications that qualify for paid teaching leave. They postponed until the next meeting the review of publications in fee-charging journals and those listing a first author in a co-authored research project.
As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and internal mobility among UP’s academic units, the Senate transferred a professor from the Faculty of Education to the Faculty of Philosophy.
The recruitment of new academic staff continued at this meeting, with decisions reached on several other positions announced in the public competition of 8 January 2026, as well as on reappointments and promotions arising from internal competitions within the academic units.
The senators were also briefed on the faculty councils’ decisions regarding the external associates needed for the 2026/27 academic year.
At the July meeting of the University of Prishtina Senate, changes were also made to the membership of the Steering Council of the Central University Library and the Quality Commission.
The Senate also approved five doctoral dissertation topics, ratified two of them, and changed the supervisor for one of these study topics. Through all its decisions, the Senate reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to strengthening academic quality, safeguarding institutional integrity, and ensuring the sustainable development of the University of Prishtina.
