In alignment with the first strategic objective of the University of Prishtina (UP), Enhancing Quality in Teaching and Learning, the Center for Excellence in Teaching (CET) has organized training for academic staff on implementing continuous student assessment.
The training, held at the Faculty of Philology, was visited by Prof. Majlinda Gjelaj, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality, and Student Affairs, accompanied by CET Director Prof. Blerta Mustafa.
Addressing the academic staff participating in the training, Vice-Rector Gjelaj explained that a working group from UP is currently drafting the Regulations for Continuous Student Assessment for the first time since the university’s founding—a process also outlined in UP’s revised Statute.
According to Gjelaj, these regulations will resolve all dilemmas surrounding continuous student assessment and aim to address every challenge in this process. Expressing her enthusiasm for the participants’ commitment, Vice-Rector Gjelaj noted her pride in their investment in professional growth. She then addressed questions and concerns from academic staff regarding assessment specifics in certain UP academic units.
The CET at the University of Prishtina regularly organizes diverse trainings tailored to the needs and interests of academic staff for their continuous professional development, with participants receiving certificates upon completion.
Thanks to these trainings and the dedication of academic staff, UP’s teaching quality has risen by 7.63% in the 2025 Times Higher Education rankings, the world’s most renowned university classification platform.
