Books from various fields of study, published by professors from the University of Prishtina, are part of the fourth edition of the Nationwide Academic and Scientific Book Fair, which will take place from today until April 25, in the premises of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo.

The opening ceremony of the event, organized by the Academy of Sciences of Albania and the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo in cooperation with the National Center for Books and Reading, was attended by the Vice-Rector for Teaching, Academic Personnel Affair, and Publications of the University of Prishtina, Naim Jerliu, and the Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Projects, and Innovation, Avni Hajdari.

The UP booth at the fair was visited by the President of the Academy of Sciences of Albania, Skënder Gjinushi, to get acquainted with the publications of the academic staff of this university over the last five years.

"This fair is the right place for promoting those publications that unite us in our common origin, common mission, and simultaneously in new challenges towards integration into the European Union," said Gjinushi.

This year's host of the fair, academician Mehmet Kraja, while noting that the scientific book is not a book of advertisement and large print runs, said that the magic of such books lies "as much in new ideas, all-encompassing knowledge, and deep thoughts, as in the durability of arguments and the truthfulness of facts."

Subsequently, the "Support Award for the Scientific Research Work of Young People" from the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Kosovo was awarded to the assistant professor at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Mëmëdhe Ibrahimi. Before becoming a professor in Italy, Ibrahimi completed his basic studies at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Prishtina.

At the Nationalwide Academic and Scientific Book Fair, over the three days it will last, there will be promotions of various scientific books from all Albanian regions. The fifth edition of this fair will be held in Tirana.
