On the eleventh day of the Prishtina International Summer University (PISU), the programme continued with courses and workshops focusing on financial technology, climate analysis, and personal and professional development.
At the Faculty of Economics, the course “Bayesian Methods for Financial Technology and Risk Analysis” continued under the guidance of Prof. Claudia Tarantola from the University of Milan and Prof. Albulena Shala from the University of Prishtina.
Through lectures and practical exercises, students explored the application of Bayesian methods in credit risk analysis, portfolio management, financial fraud detection, and algorithmic trading. Prof. Tarantola highlighted the growing importance of these methods in developing more accurate models and supporting decision-making under uncertainty.
Student Amant Rusinovci appreciated the combination of probability and programming, noting that the course had helped him better understand the connection between the two fields.
At the Geography Laboratory, the course “Mapping and Modelling Climate and Weather Using GIS and Remote Sensing Techniques” concluded. The course was led by Prof. Joanna Jaskuła from Poznań University of Life Sciences and Prof. Valbon Bytyçi from the University of Prishtina.
The course provided students with practical knowledge and skills in climate analysis, natural resource monitoring, and addressing environmental challenges. The lecturers emphasised that GIS and remote sensing are essential tools for understanding climate change and conducting analyses without geographical limitations.
Students from Kosovo, Albania, Ghana, and the United States participated in the course. Jona Kallaba, a Geodesy student at the University of Prishtina, particularly valued its practical approach and the opportunity to apply the acquired knowledge in her studies and future professional work.
Meanwhile, at the Modelarium of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Lucinde Terluin from the Netherlands led a workshop on self-awareness, personal branding, and career development. Through discussions and reflective exercises, students were encouraged to identify their values and abilities and to understand the importance of authenticity in shaping their professional identity. At the end of the workshop, the participants received certificates.
