The University of Prishtina has reached an important milestone in its efforts to strengthen academic ties with the Kosovar diaspora and historic Albanian communities abroad For the first time, following the allocation of special quotas for Arbëreshë, Arbneshë, Albanians from Turkey, and the diaspora worldwide, four new students have begun bachelor’s degree programs at the University of Prishtina.
This achievement marks a meaningful step toward bringing young people back to their homeland or the homeland of their parents, turning the University of Prishtina into a strong academic, cultural, and national bridge for the younger generations of the diaspora. The newly admitted students will study in a range of programs offered by the University of Prishtina.
This is great news not only for the University of Prishtina but also for Kosovo, as it highlights the diaspora's great potential to be an active part of the country’s academic, professional, and social development. By welcoming young people from the diaspora and our historic communities, UP is making a real contribution to the process of "brain return" to Kosovo whether by engaging the academic diaspora or by bringing young people back to study, live, and contribute to their country of origin.
The University of Prishtina remains dedicated to being an academic home for all Kosovars and diaspora students, wherever they may live, providing opportunities for study, integration, and professional growth in Kosovo.
We warmly welcome the new students to the University of Prishtina and wish them great success on their academic journey!
