As part of the cultural programme of the Prishtina International Summer University (PISU), participating students took part in a two-day excursion to some of Kosovo’s most important historical, cultural, and natural sites.
On the sixth day, students visited the “Adem Jashari” Memorial Complex in Prekaz, where they learned more about the history of the Jashari family, their sacrifice for Kosovo’s freedom, and the importance of this site in the country’s collective memory. The visit continued in Prizren, where participants had the opportunity to explore the cultural, historical, and architectural heritage of one of Kosovo’s oldest and most distinctive cities.
The cultural programme continued on the seventh day with visits to the Archaeological Park of Ulpiana, the White Drin Waterfall, and the city of Peja. In Ulpiana, students learned about the traces of ancient civilization and the historical significance of this site, while at the White Drin Waterfall they enjoyed one of Kosovo’s most beautiful natural attractions. The visit to Peja completed the itinerary by introducing students to the history, traditions, and cultural heritage of the city.
International and local students described the excursion as a special experience that helped them better understand Kosovo’s history, culture, identity, and natural beauty.
Through these visits, PISU continues to offer not only an academic experience, but also an important space for cultural exchange, bringing students closer to Kosovo beyond the classroom.
