The University of Prishtina has officially opened the 26th edition of the Prishtina International Summer University (PISU), welcoming students from Kosovo and countries around the world.
As one of the University’s most important international programmes, PISU continues to serve as a platform for academic cooperation, intercultural exchange, and the sharing of experiences among students, professors, and professionals from different countries.
In his address to the participants, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, expressed his appreciation to the local and international professors and students who are part of this year’s edition. He emphasized that PISU remains one of the main drivers of the University’s internationalization, creating opportunities not only for academic development, but also for new friendships, intercultural cooperation, and social exchange.
The opening ceremony was also addressed by the Acting Deputy Minister of Education, Përparim Kryeziu; the Acting Head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Boguslaw Gertruda; and the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Prof. Rozafa Basha.
Over the next two weeks, participants will attend 19 courses and 12 international workshops led by local and international professors. Alongside the academic programme, PISU 2026 will offer a rich programme of cultural and social activities, including the third edition of the UPWard Student Film Festival, the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, the Academic Diaspora Forum, the traditional evening, the international evening, sports activities, excursions in Kosovo, and other events for participants.
PISU continues to transform the University of Prishtina campus into a meeting place of cultures, ideas, and academic exchange. The University of Prishtina warmly welcomes all participating students and professors and wishes them a memorable academic and cultural experience in Prishtina.
