On 19 June 2026, the University of Prishtina officially unveiled its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, following its approval by the University's Steering Council. The occasion was marked by a workshop and formal presentation attended by university leadership, representatives of the Steering Council, academic and administrative staff, students, and development partners.
In his address, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu, stressed the importance of strategic planning as the cornerstone of the institution's long-term development, drawing particular attention to the need for institutional accountability during the implementation phase. He underlined that the strategy's success depends on putting it into practice through well-structured, tailored, and workable action plans that turn strategic goals into concrete results.
The Head of the University of Prishtina's Steering Council, Mrs. Arberesha Nela Turjaka, praised the inclusive process behind the strategy's development, noting that the document reflects a shared institutional vision and a clear roadmap for modernization, internationalization, and raising quality standards across all areas of the university's work. She also highlighted the institutional responsibility to ensure the strategy is carried out and to bring operational plans into line with strategic goals and available budget resources.
At the event, the representative of the SHER project, Mr. Aqim Emurli, congratulated the University of Prishtina on this important achievement, stressing that the strategy offers a roadmap towards a modern, competitive university aligned with European standards. He noted that SHER has contributed to the process by providing technical expertise, workshops, consultations, and support to the working groups, ensuring a broad-based approach with the involvement of management, staff, and students.
The SHER project, funded by the Austrian Development Agency, co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science, and implemented by WUS Austria, the Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI), and OeAD, has supported the University of Prishtina in shaping key policies arising from the University's new Statute.
The University of Prishtina's Strategic Plan 2026–2030 focuses on six key areas: academic excellence, student experience, research and innovation, internationalization, governance and sustainability, and digital transformation.
The event was welcomed as a significant step towards strengthening the University of Prishtina's vision of becoming a modern, high-quality institution fully integrated into the European Higher Education and Research Area.
