Acting Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci met today with students, professors, and deans from the engineering and mathematical-natural sciences programs at the University of Prishtina to discuss their potential involvement in military industry projects.

The ministry is close to completing a modern industrial complex for ammunition, consisting of three components: production, testing, and the transportation/export of products.

Minister Maqedonci emphasized that the University of Prishtina and its students are essential to this project. He then answered questions from the audience and provided the necessary explanations.

Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu praised the employment opportunities for UP students in the defense industry and national security projects. He stated that the University of Prishtina has the will, the desire, and the readiness to place everything we have, know, and can do at the service of our country.

Afterwards, the leaders of the two institutions signed an agreement that creates a cooperation framework between the University of Prishtina and the Ministry of Defense for carrying out joint professional, technical, scientific, and academic activities.

Under the agreement, the University of Prishtina will offer professional and scientific expertise in areas of interest and for the Ministry of Defense's projects. University experts will also take part in commissions, working groups, and other ministry bodies, by mutual agreement. The agreement also provides for cooperation in fields related to defense, security, and crisis management.

Earlier this year, the University of Prishtina signed cooperation agreements with several ministries and other institutions, with the goal of putting its staff's expertise to work for the public good.
