The University of Prishtina is excited to introduce UP Talks, a new public program of lectures and discussions, which will be launched for the first time as part of the university’s commitment to become more open to society and to create a new space for open dialogue, idea sharing, and meaningful conversations.

UP Talks is based on the idea that a university is not just a place for learning and research, but also a forum where important social issues are discussed, different perspectives are heard, and the public can take part in shaping current debates.

Through this series, the University of Prishtina aims to bring together academics, thinkers, decision-makers, professionals, and well-known personalities from Kosovo, the region, and around the world. The goal is to explore topics related to our shared future: democracy, European integration, geopolitics, artificial intelligence, energy transition, culture, public health, and the changes affecting our societies.

The series will kick off with an open lecture by Prof. Dr. Zanfina Ademi, a Professor of Health Economics at Monash University, the University of Eastern Finland, and the University of Pristina. She is one of the most respected scholars from Kosovo’s academic diaspora.

The first lecture will focus on:

“Who Decides Our Health? How Do Health Policies, the Economy, and the Environment Impact Our Well-Being?”

UP Talks aims to promote critical thinking, open discussion, and the exchange of ideas. It offers students, the academic community, and the wider public the chance to participate in important conversations about society.

All lectures will be recorded and posted on the university’s website, making them accessible to everyone and helping to expand the space for knowledge, discussion, and public engagement.

With UP Talks, University of Prishtina is creating a new platform where knowledge meets society, ideas become part of the debate, and the university strengthens its role as a space for thinking, asking questions, and shaping visions for the future.

This event is supported by the Open Society Foundation and will take place at the Kosovo National Library on June 24, 2026, starting at 6:00 PM.

Welcome to UP Talks!
