Today marks the start of the Second Student Conference of the Faculty of Medicine, which will continue throughout the day. During the event, 94 scientific papers will be presented by students and professors from the University of Prishtina, as well as international participants.

The goal of the conference is to promote academic and scientific excellence at the Faculty of Medicine and the University of Prishtina, as well as to encourage international student collaboration.

At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Sefedin Muçaj, described this important event as an investment in the future of the country's healthcare system. Addressing the students, Dean Muçaj said, “Today is your day. Today is the day for your ideas, your work, and your ambitions.”

The Vice-Rector for Institutional Development, Quality, and Student Affairs, Professor Majlinda Gjelaj, stated that this conference is built on three main pillars of the university: science, education, and service. She emphasized that the best professionals are not those who think they know everything, but those who constantly analyze and improve their work. Professor Gjelaj also reaffirmed that the University of Prishtina is dedicated to fostering a culture of quality, academic integrity, and scientific research, where students are active partners in creating knowledge.

Speaking to the students of the Faculty of Medicine who will present their scientific work, Professor Aurora Bakalli, the Vice-Dean for Teaching and Student Affairs, said, “Today, your voice will be heard — the voice of science.” She highlighted that this year’s conference is the first to have an international character, with students at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels participating with their research papers.

The President of the Student Council of the Faculty of Medicine, Vion Bajramaj, also spoke, emphasizing that the conference is paving the way toward an academic process based on science. He expressed confidence that the Faculty of Medicine, with its talented students, will become a center for scientific research in Kosovo.

The conference, which has over 720 participants registered, is organized into four sessions. During these sessions, various medical and health issues will be discussed through oral presentations, posters, and group discussions.
