The University of Prishtina (UP) continues to solidify its role as a prominent actor in the international academic arena. During an intensive two-day visit to Hungary by Rector Arben Hajrullahu and Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange Rozafa Basha, six cooperation agreements were signed with some of Hungary’s most prestigious universities.

The cooperation agreements were formalized with the following institutions:

Corvinus University of Budapest

Óbuda University

Ludovika University of Public Service

Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE)

Andrássy University Budapest

Hungarian University of Fine Arts

During the visit, a meeting was also held with the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE), a key partner of UP. Both parties expressed readiness to renew their cooperation agreement in the coming weeks, further deepening their existing partnership.

This intensive agenda follows UP’s recent success in the Times Higher Education (THE) 2025 international rankings and serves as clear evidence that internationalization is no longer merely a strategic goal but a concrete reality.

The growing number of Kosovar students pursuing studies in Hungary—supported by European and Hungarian scholarships—alongside the expansion of academic exchanges with Hungarian institutions, is building sustainable, long-term bridges of cooperation.

The Rector and Vice-Rector expressed profound gratitude for the unwavering support of the diplomatic staff of the Republic of Kosovo in Hungary, particularly Ambassador H.E. Mr. Delfin Pllana and Deputy Chief of Mission Ms. Albana Bylykbashi, for their pivotal role in the professional and seamless organization of this visit.

The University of Prishtina is advancing with confident strides toward an increasingly robust international profile, an achievement that belongs to the entire academic community and reflects our unwavering commitment to quality, partnership, and global vision.
