The University of Pristina has achieved remarkable success, positioning itself 10th globally in the 9th edition of the "Inspireli Awards 2024" — one of the most prestigious international student competitions in architecture, design, and construction engineering.
This recognition is the result of our students' ongoing dedication, who participate in international competitions as part of the academic curriculum at the Faculty of Architecture.
Specifically, the Top 10 ranking was achieved thanks to the success of the "Sustainable Village – ECOUNITY" project within the broader "Schindler's Ark" project located in the Czech Republic, which was declared a winner in the summer of 2024.
The project, carried out by students Sibora Ramadani, Eron Shala, Bleranda Hykosmoni, and Albina Zenunaj, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Rozafa Basha, was rated the best in its category. Under the guidance of the professor, who currently holds the position of Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, the students presented an innovative concept for an ecological village that meets the needs of the times and social developments. This achievement was crowned with the official certificate award ceremony for the University of Pristina, conducted by the previous winner of the "Inspireli Awards" and current jury member, Lendrit Krasniqi, along with student and senator Florian Shala, this year's competitor in the contest. The ceremony was also attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Professor Violeta Nushi.
This success adds to the continuous achievements of the University of Pristina in the "Inspireli..." Last year, UP was ranked 14th among 1320 universities worldwide, thanks to three winning projects by Faculty of Architecture students for the "Miris Garden" tourist resort located in Zadar, Croatia, selected from 163 competing projects from 38 countries.
Competitions like the "Inspireli AWARDS" offer students unique educational opportunities and expose them to the global arena of architectural practice. This result is clear evidence of our students' dedication, the support of the academic staff, and the strength of our university community to achieve international success.
