The University of Prishtina’s Vice Rector for International and Academic Exchanges, Rozafa Basha, and the Vice Rector for Teaching and Academic Staff, Naim Jerliu, recently had a productive meeting with Professor Paolo Contu, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Cagliari in Italy.

Professor Merita Koçinaj-Berisha from the University of Prishtina’s Faculty of Medicine also participated in the meeting. Professor Contu, who is also the European Vice President for the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE), is in Prishtina to attend the 13th Concha Colomer Symposium

This event, organized by the European Training Consortium for Public Health and Health Promotion (ETC-PHHP), will be held on January 24th at the Faculty of Medicine, focusing on the theme “Communication in Health Promotion.”

During the meeting, they discussed opportunities for inter-institutional cooperation between the two universities, including academic and research partnerships in medicine and other disciplines. The importance of establishing an inter-institutional agreement within the Erasmus+ program was also emphasized, which would enable mobility for academic staff and students between the two universities.

The meeting also covered potential support in developing new academic programs in the Faculty of Medicine, including expertise and assistance from the University of Cagliari.

These steps represent an important development towards strengthening international cooperation and advancing academic quality at the University of Prishtina.
