Rector of the University of Prishtina Visits Faculty of Medicine: QR Code-Based Attendance Monitoring System in SEMS Launched

The Rector of the University of Prishtina, Prof. Arben Hajrullahu, accompanied by Vice-Rectors Naim Jerliu, Albana Berisha-Qehaja, Rozafa Basha, and Avni Hajdari, visited the Faculty of Medicine on Friday. During the visit, the Rector met with the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Sefedin Muçaj, as well as Vice-Deans, Heads of Departments from General Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Nursing, and representatives of the student body.

The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of a new module in the Student Electronic Management System (SEMS) for electronic attendance tracking through QR code scanning. The full implementation of this system marks a significant step towards modernizing and streamlining the monitoring of the teaching process, ensuring accurate and efficient record-keeping.

During the meeting with the faculty leadership, discussions focused on the progress of the academic process, challenges, and plans for the further development of the Faculty of Medicine.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of collective efforts to enhance the academic environment, create favorable conditions for the professional development of students and staff, expand faculty capacities, and improve teaching infrastructure and scientific research facilities.

Engaging with student representatives, various topics related to improving study conditions were addressed.

The Rector and his team also toured several laboratories and teaching spaces at the Faculty of Medicine, evaluating past investments and those planned for the future. Additionally, they explored the library facilities and the opportunities it provides.

This visit highlights the University of Prishtina management's dedication to closely monitor the needs of its’ faculties and ensure an optimal environment for the academic and professional development of students and staff.
