The Rectorate of the University of Prishtina hosted the meeting of the Conference of Rectors of Public Higher Education Institutions.
During the meeting, the leaders of public higher education institutions unanimously elected the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, as the Chair of the Conference of Rectors. Additionally, Mentor Alishani, the Rector of the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti,” was unanimously elected as the Vice-Chair of the Conference, with no votes against or abstentions.
Rector Hajrullahu emphasized that the University of Prishtina is a shared institution for all the rectors present, as other public universities in major cities across Kosova originated from the University of Prishtina. He stated that the goal of the meeting was to coordinate efforts for improved policies aimed at advancing the development of higher education.
The conference brought together several prominent leaders in higher education, including Agron Bajraktari, Rector of the University of Applied Sciences in Ferizaj; Artan Dërmaku, Rector of the University of Gjilan “Kadri Zeka”; Armand Krasniqi, Rector of the University of Peja “Haxhi Zeka”; Drilon Bunjaku, Rector of the University of Gjakova “Fehmi Agani”; and Mihane Kerolli, Rector of the International Business College in Mitrovica.
Rector Hajrullahu’s mandate as Chair of the Conference of Rectors will last for one year.
The Conference of Rectors operates based on an administrative directive issued by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, which defines its work, duties, and responsibilities.
