In an introductory meeting with representatives of civil society organizations, Rector Arben Hajrullahu called for cooperation to make the University of Prishtina an institution we can be even more proud of.
Rector Hajrullahu expressed gratitude to his guests for their cooperation and monitoring of the institution he leads, particularly over the past 15 years. He noted that this has helped the University of Prishtina engage in self-correction.
Representatives from civil society organizations also discussed projects related to the University of Prishtina.
Fortesa Shasivari, Education Officer at the "Voice of Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptians" organization, highlighted the academic and non-academic support provided to students from these communities, emphasizing that Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian students at the University of Prishtina could also benefit.
Blerina Ukshini, Project Manager at "Germin," stressed that the diaspora should not be viewed solely as a source of remittances but also as a valuable resource of expertise and knowledge.
Edita Buçinca from the "Kosovo Education Center" (KEC) discussed the "HEI 25" project, which she manages. This initiative, implemented in partnership with the "Organization for Improving Quality in Education" (ORCA), aims to democratize and enhance higher education legislation in Kosova.
Rina Demiri-Spahia, Executive Director of "Action for Mothers and Children," spoke about efforts to reduce infant mortality in Kosova, which remains the highest in Europe. She also highlighted the lack of neonatologists in the country.
Rezarta Delibashzade-Krasniqi, Executive Director of "Democracy for Development," presented a project focused on increasing women's participation in the labor market.
Kastriot Muçolli, Office Manager at "Tech for Kosova," discussed joint projects with the University of Prishtina to recruit qualified professionals for Kosova’s education system.
The meeting also included Vice Rectors Albana Berisha-Qehaja, Avni Hajdari, Naim Jerliu, and Rozafa Basha.
