The University of Prishtina and the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies, led by Professor Robert Austin, may soon establish a formal partnership.
The main directions for future collaboration between the two institutions were discussed and outlined during a meeting between the Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange, Rozafa Basha, and Professor Robert Austin.
The meeting between Professor Basha and Professor Austin took place at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. Professor Austin is a specialist in Kosova and the Balkan region, with a focus on democratization and state-building. The Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies is one of the most prominent academic research institutions for the European Union, Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Transcaucasus, and Central Asia.
During her visit to Toronto, in addition to meeting Professor Austin, Vice-Rector Basha also met with representatives of Albanian student organizations from the University of Toronto and York University at the Consulate General of the Republic of Kosova.
Vice-Rector Basha presented the students with opportunities offered by the University of Prishtina, including English-language programs for non-Albanian speakers, the Prishtina International Summer University courses, and internship options. The students committed to sharing this information within their networks.
On November 6, Vice-Rector Basha made history as the first representative of the University of Prishtina to sign a cooperation agreement with Betina Appel Kuzmarov, Associate Vice-President of Carleton University in Canada.
