For the first time in its history since its founding in 1970, the University of Prishtina has established a cooperation agreement with a Canadian university.
On November 6, Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange at the University of Prishtina, Rozafa Basha, signed a memorandum of cooperation with Carleton University’s Associate Vice-President, Betina Appel Kuzmarov.
Carleton University, founded in 1942 and located in Ottawa, Canada, offers a wide range of study opportunities in fields such as social sciences, arts, linguistics, natural sciences, engineering, law, and more. This partnership was the result of several months of communication between the University of Prishtina and Carleton University, with support from the Embassy of the Republic of Kosovo in Canada.
Before finalizing the partnership, Vice-Rector Basha, accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to Canada, Adriatik Kryeziu, introduced her counterpart, Betina Appel Kuzmarov, to the vast collaboration possibilities, including joint research projects, shared academic activities, and exchange programs for faculty and students.
During her meeting with Betina Appel Kuzmarov, Professor Basha invited faculty and students from Carleton University to apply for the upcoming edition of the Prishtina International Summer University. This annual program, now in its 24th year, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2025.
Vice-Rector Rozafa Basha visited Canada as a delegate of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE), participating in the organization’s annual conference and the Canada-Europe Forum.
This landmark collaboration marks a new era of international partnerships for the University of Prishtina, connecting Kosova and Canada through education and academic exchange.
