Internationally Renowned Scholar, Prof. Gëzim Visoka from Dublin City University and Oxford University Research Associate, Also Transfers to the University of Prishtina

At its 20th meeting, held on September 30, 2025, the Senate of the University of Prishtina unanimously approved the proposal of Rector Prof. Arben Hajrullahu to transfer Prof. Gëzim Visoka to the Department of Political Science within the university's Faculty of Philosophy, appointing him as an Associate Professor.

Prof. Visoka is an internationally renowned scholar, an Associate Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at the School of Law and Government at Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland, and a Research Associate in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Oxford, UK.

The transfer of the distinguished professor was conducted based on the Regulation on Transfers, the "Brain Gain" Program, and guidelines for Exceptional Recruitment Needs of Academic Staff, which was approved by the University of Prishtina's Senate on April 30, 2025. This marks the first time a professor of Gëzim Visoka's caliber has been transferred and affiliated with the University of Prishtina under this regulation.

Throughout his career, Prof. Gëzim Visoka is the author and editor of 12 books, 30 scientific articles, and 25 book chapters, all published by some of the most prestigious international journals and publishing houses.

The professor, who is now returning to the University of Prishtina, began his scholarly path at this very university's Faculty of Philosophy, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He then obtained a master's degree from the University of Sussex in England and a doctorate from Dublin City University in the field of Politics and International Relations.

In addition to his excellent academic work, Prof. Visoka has over 20 years of professional experience as a political advisor in post-war societies and with civil society groups.

The arrival of Prof. Gëzim Visoka at the University of Prishtina establishes a new practice within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of teaching and scientific research during this era of rapid technological developments and artificial intelligence.
